When I was asked to photography Audra’s wedding, I was immediately elated. Audra is this beaming blonde beautiful sister of my friend Christen who I absolutely adore. In the very next second I was immediately filled with anxiety. Audra would be getting married on New Year’s Day in Grapevine, just outside the DFW Metroplex. I was open this year (typically I book PHOTO DOJO parties on New Year’s Day, but I had decided no more holidays away from my friends and family after missing yet another trip to Santa Fe with the Weigls.
Most people in the “photography” industry will admit behind closed doors that they hate weddings. They don’t like dealing with stressed out, demanding brides, careless and often uncooperative grooms, the long hours not only at the ceremony and reception, but the countless butt-numbing days retouching at the work station. There are a million reasons to not like wedding photography, I guess. The pay is low relative to commercial work. The hours are tedious compared to portrait work. The glory is none existent compared to editorial and magazine work. But there is more emotion, more heart …

There’s no sound. I know. This is one of the movies that we actually provided for the couple. Each couple gets a stylized video like this as well as a documentary style disk of there wedding. The resolution is crap here, but looks amazing from the DVD. Because the couple selected a copyrighted song, YOUTUBE is require to disable sound. Since posting this video, Andrew from LiT Studios has begun posting on VIMEO to avoid such a problem.
